Adobe WorkflowLab

WorkflowLab is a new AIR application that provides a graphical representation of workflow best practices (or processes). Abode supplies several workflow samples within its application like the following one I’ve choosen : ‘Video delivery and distribution’.

Even if features are very basic like creating a new project, visualizing existing project, creating new task, modifying it or removing another one, this application is very pleasant and easy to learn.

By selecting a task, the task description is automatically updated.

Edit task comment window.

Add tools to your task window
Another feature is the possibility to share new workflow on Adobe Cookbook.

Notice also that the product management is assumed by Doug Winnie, who is well know by the aficionados of the Adobe TV series : 1:1 with Doug Winnie. I’m really interested to discover the backlog for this product. As potentiel user, I would be interested by the following features:
¬ Decline the workflow to concret project
¬ Open the corresponding softwares from WorkflowLab (thanks to Switchboard technology, AIR 2.o features?)
¬ Include non Adobe products and technologies (3D software like Z-Brush, Autodesk products, Microsoft products, etc.)
¬ Add loop, requirement, condition for executing a task.
¬ Link tasks each other to precise dependancies
¬ Group task and affect a team or a group of contributors
To conclude, I appreciated the graphical coherence with others new AIR and online Adobe applications. I make the affordance better.
Notice also that the file extension is a new XML based format (*.wfx).
I flowly recommend Adobe WorkflowLab.
