Unity3D, be free to experiment

During the Unite 2009 conference, the danish firm announced that the Indie version of its 3D software is now free. So cool! I was frustrated not to be able to play with it more than 30 days… Now it’s possible. I’ve already downloaded the new Unity version 2.6.

And I did my first launch!

Let’s go now! I began to read the documentation, I’m going to collect video and tutorials in order to complete my training and the Unity page of this blog.
But keep in mind that Unity is a software for 3D game development for the web (via the Unity player), for iPhone applications, for Wii games and now for the Microsoft XBOX 360. Not bad!

I was suprised to see that you can create Boo script. I have amready heard about this language but I had no idea about what it was used. It’s a good idea to explore this new field! As it is said on the Codehaus official site : “Boo is a new object oriented statically typed programming language for the Common Language Infrastructure with a python inspired syntax and a special focus on language and compiler extensibility“. That is certainly a gateway to the .Net framework via the Mono project. And you can synchronize the project with the Microsoft Visual Studio.
I really need to explore that!
One still remark, I’m very astonished how NVidia PhysX is now everywhere!
Finally I threedy recommend Unity!
